Tango Cherries – Besos de Miel, 2016, Halle

In the middle of the city centre of Halle we met in a beautiful old building. A dance hall with bright light at daytime shining through big windows, a wooden floor, and a cosy small dancing crowd.

Organizing a tango meeting at the same weekend like big marathons and one of the biggest festivals in Europe means you know your guests very well, the friends who will come, whatever else is on the event-agenda elsewhere. Participants were mainly from Germany, with some international dancers as well. So it felt really like a family gathering, spending a weekend hanging around with friends. Chatting on the big sofa, eating franzbrötchen together (there were almost as good as the ones here, and I live in the capital of franzbrötchen!), drinking mate and wine and coffee, and then dancing … isn’t it like a weekend should be?

The atmosphere has been incredible friendly, relaxed, and calm. I wish some of the DJ’s hadn’t played the same kind of very calm music all the time, but that’s personal taste, I guess. From now on I will name for every event my personal “Best DJ” … here it has been Stefan OK from Halle. <3

The organizers gave the event a frame, that even a very beginner couple had fun – there has been enough space for all, for the experienced dancers to play, and toss and twirl around, as well as for the intermediate dancers to be safe and secure in the middle of the hall.

We all enjoyed the dedicated helpers and organizers, always there, always helping, laughing, smiling with us.

Especially for this marathon a honey edition has been created, and decorated by hand, both from local tango dancers. Sweet kisses guaranteed! So honey-lovers, mark your calendars for the next edition!
